Alamosa Family Recreation Center

Many hot showers open to the public for a fee of $3 for 30 minutes to use the facility. Plenty of hot water with good pressure. Stalls are private and there are lockers available for a quarter. Arrive early rather than late since there are no public showers available after 7:15PM on Monday through Friday, or after 5:15 Fridays, and 2:15 on Saturdays. Check website or call ahead for specific details.

Allenspark

Meeker Park Lodge

While this place is only open during the summer, it’s a great spot to stop for a quick hot shower. Private stalls, excellent hot water/pressure, and very clean. It’s a unique log-cabin style lodge that is open to all; you don’t need to be staying here to use the showers.

Antonio

Sinclair Gas Station

Clean private hot water showers in a gas station. Towels are provided at no extra charge. Each room has its own sink, toilet, and plenty of space to keep your stuff dry and accessible.

Arvada

Secrest Recreation Center

Very nice, clean rec center with many hot showers. The family room is huge and offers plenty of room if you’re looking for a luxurious experience. Many other amenities other than showers that are worth checking out if you have the time. Staff is very welcoming.

Aspen

Aspen Recreation Center

Communal open-stall showers for a very expensive rate. The facility is nice and has a pool, ice sink, basketball court, etc. but the day pass price is astronomical. Nonetheless, it’s very clean and the staff is nice. Not much privacy and can be busy at peak times.

Aspen Red Brick Recreation Center

Multiple communal showers within both the men’s and women’s restrooms. Not much privacy but the water is clean and the pressure is wonderful.

Avon

Avon Recreation Center

Large rec center with many private shower stalls that’s open for the public. The showers are super spacious with a nice tiled interior and endless hot water. Towels available if needed for an extra $2 each. Nice facility with courteous staff.

Battlement Mesa

Grand Valley Recreation Center

Smaller than average but decent rec center that has private shower stalls that are open to the general public. Large family room available and also a men’s and women’s room. Good hot temperature, amazing water pressure, and no time limits.

Bennett

Love’s Travel Stop

Typical truck stop style shower rooms with ample privacy and super hot water. Towels and soap are provided at no additional cost. This place can be quite busy at times so plan ahead if needed.

Blanca

Blanca-Fort Garland Food Pantry

Not the nicest or cleanest showers around, but they’re cheap and open to the public. Outdated facility. Small stalls and not many good places to hang your stuff, but it works in a pinch.

Boulder

East Boulder Community Center

Communal showers available in the locker rooms of both the men’s and women’s. No curtains or privacy so be prepared. Hot water with good pressure in a clean and nicely updated facility.

Scott Carpenter Pool

Although it’s only open during the summers, this is a nice outdoor pool with many showers available. They are communal and open stall so don’t expect any privacy but they do provide ample hot water with good pressure. The pool is very nice and huge if you’d like to take a swim.

Breckenridge

Breckenridge Recreation Center

Fancy rec center that’s a bit more expensive than most places, but it seems to have it all. Climbing wall, pool, track, gym, sauna, steam room, and so much more. The showers are spacious, very clean, and have endless hot water. Fantastic place to wash up!

Buena Vista

Arkansas River Rim Campground

Small campground with a couple of public showers that are easily accessible. Only $5 per person for unlimited time in a clean, private stall. The water is hot but does not last for more than a couple of showers, so be mindful of others. Open seasonally, closed during the winter, so check their website or give them a call for specifics.

Buena Vista Community Center

Coin operated showers located at the community center in downtown Buena Vista. Water temperature is very hot and the pressure is amazing. Stalls are a bit small but they suffice. Relatively clean and open daily until 5PM.

Wally’s Laundromat

Coin operated showers at Wally’s Laundromat with two private stalls available. Change machine on site so you can break bills to insert quarters into the shower timer machine. Water is hot and unlimited with good pressure. Somewhat clean.

Cañon City

Love’s Travel Stop

Large, clean private shower rooms open to the general public. Stalls are spacious and updated with perfect pressure and amazing hot water that runs forever. Each private room has its own toilet, sink, mirror, bench, and shower stall.

Royal Gorge / Canon City KOA Holiday

Clean bathrooms with private shower stalls that provide plentiful hot water. Open to all; you don’t need to be a campground guest to use this facility.

Carbondale

Carbondale Recreation and Community Center

Two private showers located within each of the women’s and men’s locker rooms. Clean and roomy with ample hot water and pressure. This is a modern and newly built facility that also has a climbing wall and gym that you can use.

Castle Rock

Castle Rock Community Recreation Center

Nicely updated rec center with private shower stalls (with curtains) and shower rooms (with locking doors) available. Very clean with unlimited hot water. If you have a choice, opt for the shower rooms as they are spacious and have their own toilet, sink, and bench. Super plush!

Colorado Springs

Widefield Parks & Recreation

Several private shower stalls with a full access day pass. Large facility with many amenities including a pool, gym, etc. Ample hot water, no timer, and great pressure. Staff is very friendly!

Cortez

Cortez Recreation Center

Super nice rec center with large shower rooms that offer plenty of space and privacy. Each room has its own toilet, sink, mirror, and changing area. Incredibly clean with very hot water, good pressure, and no time limits. The rest of the facility is worth checking out if you’d like to enjoy the pool, slides, gym, hot tubs, etc.

Crawford

The Hitching Post Hotel And Farm Store

This is a nice little hotel that has pay showers open to the general public. Water is hot, stalls are clean, and the staff is super friendly. Private rooms that are well equipped.

Creede

Cottonwood Cove Guest Ranch

Small ranch/resort with public showers that provide endless hot water. No time limits, good pressure, clean facility. Stalls are spacious and well kept; a bit more upscale than most camping or tourist areas. Staff is very friendly!

San Juan Sports

An amazing spot to wash up in a super upscale, all-tiled shower stall. One in each of the restrooms. No time limit with unlimited hot water and a high-end showerhead. Towels, washcloths, and soaps are provided at no additional cost. Open daily from 9AM to 9PM (and 10PM on Friday and Saturday.)

Crested Butte

Elevation Hotel & Spa

Super amazing experience to be had at the Elevation Spa. Spacious clean showers with unlimited hot water and a fancy showerhead. There’s also steam room, gym, sauna, outdoor hot tubs, and indoor pool. Worth it.

Crook

Reatta Travel Stop

Truck stop located in the middle of nowhere along Interstate 76 that has a couple of private showers that are open for public use. Ample hot water, good pressure, and surprisingly very clean. No time limit, soap dispenser within stalls.

Delta

Bill Heddles Recreation Center

Large recreation center with a lot of amenities and an inexpensive day pass to access the entire facility. Showers are very hot and super clean, individual stalls. Staff is very friendly. There’s also a pool, gym, hot tubs, and even a basketball course.

Denver

Barnum Recreation Center

Several clean communal showers located within the locker rooms. No privacy to be had but the water is hot and plentiful. You have free reign to the entire place. Rumor has it that you can access for free if it’s your first time here. Give them a call or check their website for specifics.

Eisenhower Recreation Center

If you haven’t been here before, you can get in for free. Otherwise the daily rate is cheap and it gives you access to the entire facility and all of the amenities. Showers are private and cleaned often, which is apparent. Ample hot water and pressure with nice staff. Check their website or call them up for specific information.

Dinosaur

Ledford Park Showers

Located next to the park, across a driveway, is a gray brick building with dinosaur paintings on it. Within here are a couple of totally free hot showers that anyone is allowed to use. Water is actually hot with good pressure and the facility seems to be cleaned often. A real treat – don’t leave it a mess!

Durango

Durango Community Recreation Center

Amazing, upscale community center with an indoor pool, kids play area, gym, climbing wall, and more. The showers are private, spacious, and the facility is very clean and nicely equipped. There’s even hand blow dryers that are up high on the wall so you can easily use them to dry your hair.

North Main Laundry

Small laundromat with a couple of coin operated showers in the back with a change machine on site. Note that if the top light on the coin dispenser is not lit up, do not insert any quarters. Wait for the light to turn on so you know it’s counting your change. Water is hot and plentiful but the facility tends to be a bit dirty at times.

Estes Park

Estes Valley Community Center

Incredibly nice, newly build rec center with shower-only passes available. There’s also a pool, hot tub, gym, and other amenities if you’d like to pay for full access. The showers are private, spacious, and very clean. Water is hot and unlimited with amazing pressure. Check hours on their website or give them a call because they fluctuate often.

Village Laundry Inc

Nice laundromat that has 3 different shower rooms available to the general public. Very clean stalls with privacy and amazingly hot water. Soap and towels are provided if you need it.

Fairplay

Sinclair Gas Station

Truck stop style showers that are a bit outdated but kept fairly clean. Private rooms each with their own toilet and sink. No time limits and very hot water with good pressure.

Fort Collins

Durrell Center

Private shower located within the all-gender restroom, right next to the women’s restroom. Free to use as long as the building is open. Be discreet so others can enjoy this spot in the future. Good water pressure, endless hot water with privacy.

Foothills Activity Center

A few showers open to the public for the price of a day pass. Push-button operation with auto shut-off after a few minutes. Ample hot water with good pressure. Stalls are private and clean.

Northside Aztlan Community Center

Several clean and hot showers located within both locker rooms at the Northside Aztlan Community Center. Nice facility with many other amenities that are worth checking out. Private stalls with friendly staff.

Fraser

Grand Park Community Recreation Center

Nice rec center with a pool and private how showers. There’s plenty of hot water, good pressure, and no time limits. Very clean place with nice staff who will show you where to go once you check-in.

Fruita

Fruita Community Center

Upscale rec center that has a hot tub, slide, climbing wall, and all sorts of amenities. The showers are private, very hot, and provide amazing water pressure. Bring your own towel, soap, etc.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs Community Center

Large rec center with many amenities that are worth checking out. The showers get incredibly hot and there’s no time limit. Stalls are private and kept very clean. Complimentary shampoo and body wash included.

Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves

This is a very unique experience in a geothermal heated cave that is quite relaxing. There’s two sets of showers but they are open stall and communal, so you don’t have a lot of privacy unless there’s not many people around (which can be rare.) Clean and upscale facility that is worth checking out, at least once.

Golden

Golden Community Center

Really nicely equipped rec center with several showers that are open for the public to use. Day pass grants you full access to the entire facility which includes a large pool, hot tub, gym, etc. Many of the showers to not have curtains so you may not have a desirable level of privacy. Water is very hot and pressure is ideal. Very clean place with super courteous staff.

Grand Junction

Orchard Mesa Community Center Pool

Private shower stalls in the women’s locker room with open stall showers in the men’s room. Clean facility with very accommodating staff. Amazing hot water, no time limits, and excellent pressure.

Grand Lake

Grand Lake KOA

Large KOA campground with free showers, as long as you make a donation. They use the money to support a charity that brings kids with cancer camping. Stalls are private and provide very hot water. The rooms are a little small but it does the trick. There’s a 15 minute timer on the lights and fan, so be aware before you begin washing up.

Greeley

Greeley Recreation Center

Nice but smaller than average rec center that offers cheap day passes that let you use the entire facility, including the private showers. Register at the front desk, pay your fee, and they will show you the way. No time limits, clean stalls, OK pressure. No towels or soap provided so remember to bring your own.

Gunnison

Gunnison Community Center

Really nice, well-appointed rec center that offers one of the best places to wash up. Shower-only passes available for half the price of a day pass for the entire facility. Very hot water, private stalls with changing areas, bench, toilet, sink, etc. Super high-end facility.

Lake City

Highlander RV Campground

Small campground and RV park with a couple of showers open to the public. The stalls are very clean and provide unlimited hot water (no time limits.) Closed seasonally so be sure to check their most recent hours on their website or give them a call.

Lakewood

Carmody Recreation Center

Nice rec center with many amenities such as a pool, workout room, and of course, private hot showers. The stalls are spacious and cleaned often. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Leadville

Inn the Clouds Hostel & Inn

Nice little hostel with three showers in each of the men’s and women’s restrooms. Private stalls are on the smaller side but there’s no time limit. Ample hot water and super clean all-around. The host is super nice, his name is Kent.

Mountain Laundry

Small laundromat with showers available only in the spring and summer months. You’re only able to shower if there’s an employee working who can give you access to the stalls. Clean facility with good hot water and pressure.

Loveland

Chilson Recreation Center

Nicely appointed rec center with many private showers available. You get full access to the entire facility which includes a steam room, hot tub, pool, gym, racket ball, and more. Clean stalls with ample hot water and pressure. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Mancos

Mesa Verde Showers

Although it’s only open from April 25th to October 20th each year, this is a great spot to stop for free hot showers on your way into Mesa Verde National Park. There are many private rooms with locking doors and spacious stalls that seem to be cleaned quite often.

Maybell

Maybell Park

Very quaint and simple hot shower stalls in the center of a small campground/city park. Relatively clean and convenient in a town that’s truly out there.

McClave

Hasty Campground

Rural campground with a shower outbuilding that has a couple of stalls in it. Hot water and decent pressure at a fair price. Coin operated (quarters) with a change machine located right outside of the door. You do not need to be camping here to use these; open to the public.

Montrose

Montrose Recreation Center

Very nice, newly built and updated rec center with day passes that grant you access to the entire facility, including hot showers. There’s also a climbing wall, pool, gym, etc. Really beautiful place with very hot water and private stalls.

Wild West Travel Stop

Private bathhouse with a couple of hot showers inside. Clean and tidy with coin operated timers that are easy to use. Water is very hot and the pressure is decent.

Mosca

Great Sand Dunes Oasis

Small lodge area that has private showers open to the general public. Plentiful hot water with good pressure. Stalls are somewhat clean. Place can be very busy on holiday weekends, so take note.

Outside open stall showers that provide cold water only. Good pressure but no privacy. Perfect for a hot summer day. Open to all, but you do need to pay a small fee or have a park pass to enter this area.

Ouray

Ouray Hot Springs Pool and Fitness Center

Five private shower stalls located in each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. They offer shower-only passes but access to the entire facility is well worth it if you have the time. Clean facility, very hot water with ample pressure. Lockers are available.

Pagosa Springs

Pagosa Riverside Campground

Small but nice campground that offers public showers to anyone stopping by; you do not need to be camping here to use the place. Private stalls that are very clean and spacious. Towels are available for an extra $1.

Pagosa Springs Community Center

Three private stalls in each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Good deal on shower-only passes can be had. Only open Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4PM, so take note. Water is very hot and pressure is great. The entire facility is cleaned often and the staff is very welcoming.

Ridgway

Ouray KOA Holiday

Spacious clean shower stalls with privacy and unlimited hot water. There’s no time limits so you can enjoy that at your own leisurely pace. Clean facility with friendly staff. Open to the general public; you do not have the be staying here to use them.

Rifle

Very nice clean shower stalls at this outdoor pool. Closed during the winter months, but when it’s open, you won’t regret coming here. Wonderful facility with private family rooms (spacious) available at no extra charge. Super friendly employees!

Salida

Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center

Very nice, upscale indoor pool with several hot showers open to the public. No time limit and unlimited hot water with amazing pressure. Complimentary soap is available as well as towels if you ask. Cleaned regularly so it’s nice and tidy. Pool is worth checking out if you have time. They keep it at 100 degrees so it’s nice and warm.

Silverthorne

Silverthorne Recreation Center

Upscale rec center that reels more like a private resort than a public community center. Absolutely immaculate and super clean with high-end fixtures in the showers. Private stalls, endless hot water. Towels can be rented for $2 each.

Silverton

Anesi Park

This small park has a newly built public restroom with four showers in it; two in each of the men’s and women’s rooms. The stalls have lockable doors and are very private with very hot water. Takes tokens which can be purchased at the rate of $5 per token, giving you 5 minutes of water. Be aware that no change is given, so make sure you insert only what you want to exchange for tokens. Open from 8Am to 6PM on a daily basis.

South Fork

Aspen Ridge RV Park

Small RV park with public showers that provide ample hot water with good pressure. Private stalls could be cleaner, but it’s cheap and accessible. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Riverbend Resort

A few hot showers open to the general public at this quaint resort/campground. The stalls are private and clean; there’s even a handicap accessible stall that you could use. Water is hot and there’s no time limits.

Steamboat Springs

Old Town Hot Springs

This place has four different hot spring pools, all at varying temperatures. Relaxing and inviting with cleanliness throughout. The showers are in private stalls and provide endless hot water. There’s even $10 per hour childcare services available so you can drop-in and let the kids do their thing.

Steamboat Springs KOA Holiday

This KOA allows the general public to use their showers even if you’re not camping there. Hot water, no time limit, and clean spacious stalls. Friendly staff.

Telluride

Telluride City Park Bathrooms

Private shower stalls located within the city park bathrooms in Telluride. Hot water, good pressure, very clean. There is a token machine on-site that can be used to acquire tokens for $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills only. No coins are accepted and no change is given. Daily cleaning between 12PM at 1PM, but open from 7AM to 10PM.

Towaoc

Truck stop style showers with private rooms available. Very hot water and amazing pressure. Clean facility that’s open for all, not just truckers. Spacious facility with friendly employees.

Trinidad

RV park and small hotel that allow walk-in guests to use their shower facility. Clean but small stalls provide ample hot water and high pressure. Friendly staff seem to be very welcoming.

Walsenburg

Hot and clean showers located at this small lodge. Check-in with staff to pay and get the door key. Private rooms with very hot water and decent pressure. Two stalls in each of the women’s and men’s restrooms. Overall a nice and quaint facility that’s kept very clean.
