Almo

Tracy’s General Store

Located in the back of the store are a couple hot water showers open to the public. This is a very old and quaint store that’s worth checking out, even if you don’t need to wash up. Super friendly staff, no time limit, clean! Be sure to bring your own towel. Excellent spot if you’re on your way to City of Rocks.


Blackfoot

Jensen Grove Park

Located near the restrooms near the A-frame building. Cold water only. Apparently Jensens Lake has swimmers itch so these are often used after swimming (use soap.)


Bliss

Love’s Travel Stop

Very large truck stop conveniently located off of Interstate 84. Lots of hot water with clean shower rooms that are totally private. Towels are provided.


Boise

Boise Aquatic Center

Both private and open stall showers located at this nice indoor pool facility. Very hot water with great pressure. Check-in with the front desk and register with your ID. The staff will provide you with a towel to use and show you where to go. Family locker rooms available.

On the Run Travel Center

Nice truck stop with pay showers in private stalls. Nicely updated tile interior with cleanliness throughout. Endless hot water; no time limit.


Bonners Ferry

76 Gas Station

While these definitely aren’t the cleanest showers, they’re relatively cheap and there’s no time limit. Plentiful hot water and decent pressure. Towels are included at no extra cost.

Sturgeon Station

Newly built gas station that has many private showers available to the general public. Endless hot water (no time limit) but the pressure is hit or miss. Pretty clean and nicely updated with spacious stalls.


Caldwell

Stinker Gas Station

Newly renovated showers at the Stinker Gas Station located directly off of I-84. Very hot water, no time limits, clean.


Cascade

Cascade Aquatic & Recreation Center

Several private stall showers (with curtains) available at this indoor swimming pool and rec center. Has both a large handicap shower and standard showers in both men’s and women’s restrooms. Relatively clean with lots of hot water available.


Challis

Pioneer Motel & RV Park

Hot water showers with excellent water pressure. No time limits. Privacy for each with towels provided in the fee. Staff is very friendly.


Clark Fork

Clark Fork Laundromat

Two private room showers available at the Clark Fork Laundromat. Very clean and super hot with great water pressure. The stalls are located in the back of the laundry building behind two unmarked doors.


Coeur d’Alene

The Salvation Army Kroc Center

This is one of the nicest community centers around if you need to get a shower. Plentiful hot water, private stalls, clean facility that’s newly built. There are no towel hooks and you’ll need to provide your own towel, but there’s no time limits and plenty of piping hot water. Great stop if you’re travelling along I-90.


Coolin

Suds n’ Duds

Very quaint laundromat with two private shower stalls open for guests. Cheap price, surprisingly clean with lots of hot water.


Dubois

Ike’s 66

Gas station in the small town of Dubois that offers showers to the general public. They charge by stall, so you can shower with your partner for the price of one. Hot water, fairly clean.


Grangeville

Grangeville City Pool

This is a really nice, but small, outdoor pool (open seasonally) that lets guests shower for free if they don’t want to swim in the pool. The stalls are decently clean and private and offer great hot water.

The Gym

When the community pool is closed for the season, “The Gym” is a great backup. Nice shower stalls with good privacy and unlimited hot water. Pressure is OK and staff is friendly. Bring your own towel.


Idaho Falls

KJ’s Super Stores – Convenience Store

Clean facility with many private showers available to the general public. Open 24 hours a day for easy access. Towels and wash cloths are complimentary but must be returned after use.

Recreation Center

Open stall showers available for public use for a nominal day pass fee of just $3. Warm water; not piping hot, but it does the trick. Fairly clean with friendly staff. Bring your own towel.

Wes Deist Aquatic Center

Notoriously dirty but the water is usually hot. Shower stalls are a bit cramped and the changing area is across the room. Lockers available for a quarter and are well worth-it due to the fact that thefts have occurred here.


Island Park

Henry’s Lake State Park

Nice tiled showers with a changing area. Very hot water and kept clean. Newly built so the facility is updated and cared after. The employees here are very friendly.


Jerome

Jerome Recreation District

Decent rec center with private shower stalls in the locker rooms. They aren’t the cleanest but they each have their own curtain and are quite private. Good hot water with decent pressure. Bring your shower shoes or sandals!


Kellogg

Kellogg City Park & Kellogg Swimming Pool

Conveniently located off of Interstate 90 is this free community pool that has many showers available. Seasonally open during the summer months.


Ketchum

Wood River Community YMCA

Very spacious showers that don’t have a time limit. Check-in with the front desk and they’ll give you some towels, soap, and show you the way. Clean facility with a sauna that you can use, too.


Lava Hot Springs

Lava Hot Springs Foundation World Famous Hot Springs

This is an amazing facility with four outdoor pools and a gorgeous garden throughout. Very hot showers in private stalls. Clean and tidy with lots of space to stretch out.


Lewiston

North Lewiston 76 Dyna Mart

This gas station has showers available, although you do need to place a small deposit. They will return it once you give back the key and towels. Great hot water with no time limits. Pretty clean, too!

Stinker

Another gas station that has a couple of pay showers for guests. Check-in with the front desk and they’ll give you the key. There’s one private shower in both the men’s and women’s restrooms. Towels provided and complimentary soap within each stall.


MacKay

Laundry & Showers

Although the facility is a bit outdated, the showers are cheap, hot, and kept very clean. Excellent water pressure with privacy for each stall.


McCall

The Club McCall

This is a small gym that lets guests use the showers-only for half the price of a typical day pass. There are 3 private stalls in each of the women’s and men’s restrooms. Very clean with ample hot water and pressure. Nice staff!


Parma

Old Fort Boise Park

Small, quaint campground that has showers open for the public, even if you’re not camping here. Hot water plentiful. Honors system in place; just insert your cash into the metal box and you’re good to go. Not always the cleanest, but it works!


Pocatello

Community Recreation Center

Very nice rec center in the heart of Pocatello with many private shower available. Water is hot and the entire place is fairly clean. With your day pass, you’re free to use the sauna, gym, pool, hot tub, and other amenities. They even have a “breathing room” which infuses essential oils into the air; quite refreshing.

T P Gas & Truck Stop

Smaller sized truck stop with a great rate for hot showers. Not always the cleanest but it works in a pinch. Good water pressure and friendly staff. Bring your own towels!


Sandpoint

Litehouse YMCA

Very nice private stall showers that are quite spacious. Ample hot water. Just be sure to check-in with the front desk (you’ll need to provide your ID to register.) Towels are not available to borrow, but you can buy one for $5.

Sandpoint City Beach Park

Located on the outside of each restroom building are several open-air cold water showers for public use. Although they are typically used to rinse off sand after swimming, you could easily use them to wash up.


Stanley

Public Showers and Laundry

Conveniently located on the way to Redfish lake. For the price of a token ($5) you can get a 7 minute hot water shower. Somewhat clean with nice pressure and privacy. However, the water does take about a minute to warm up. Token machine is on-site and available during the summer months only.


Swan Valley

Hover Camp

Hot water showers open to anyone, even if you’re not staying at the Hover Camp itself. If you do end up booking a place, the price is $10 for 2 people to share. Bring your own towels. Clean!


Twin Falls

E Street Community Center

Rec center located near the heart of Twin Falls with many showers that are accessible at a discounted rate (if you only want to shower.) If you’d like to use the entire facility, you’ll pay a little more. Clean and tidy but the water is not very warm.
