Baileyville Big Stop

This is a nice truck stop that has several hot showers available. They even provide fluffy clean towels for each guest. Relatively clean and excellent pressure.


Bangor

Bangor Region YMCA

This is a nice YMCA that allows a FREE shower during the first visit. Although you do need to fill out some paperwork for this. Each visit thereafter, you’ll need to pay the daily rate.


Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA Holiday

This KOA located in Bar Harbor allows the public to use their shower stalls for a fee of $10 per person. Very clean, very hot water, and no time limit.


Belfast

Waldo County YMCA

This is a really nice YMCA that has a pool, gym, and other amenities for public use. If you’d like to only use the showers, you’re able to pay half the price of a typical day pass fee to get in. Clean stalls, each one has their own shower curtain.


Boothbay

Shore Hills Campground & RV Park

Nice RV Park that allows outside guests to use their showers. Pay an entrance fee and then use quarters to extend the time of your shower. Clean stalls, plenty of hot water, and very friendly employees.


Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Region YMCA

Nice facility with several hot showers open for public use. Friendly staff with great water pressure and steady hot water. Clean and tidy with recently updated showers.


Brunswick

Brunswick Recreation Center

The Brunswick Rec Center offers the public free hot showers, each in their own private stalls with handicap accessibility. Clean stalls, great water pressure, and endless hot water (with no time limit). Open until 8PM.


Cape Elizabeth

Richards Community Pool

This community recreational center has several private shower stalls available for the public. For the price of a day pass, you can access them in addition to the pool, gym, and other nice amenities.


Columbia Falls

Cottonwood Camping & RV Park

Nicely updated showers each in their own private room with a spacious shower, bench, sink, and mirror. Great water pressure, consistent hot water, and very friendly staff.


Ellsworth

Ellsworth YMCA, Wiggins Center

As a branch of the Downeast Family YMCA, this location lets walk-in guests shower for a cheap rate of $5 per person. Although the water isn’t consistently very hot, the facilities are clean. Open until 8PM on weekdays and 5PM on weekends.

Queen City Athletics – Ellsworth

This is a gym that’s open 24/7 and allows walk-in guests to purchase a daily pass. With that, you can freely use the showers without any time limit. Very hot water and clean stalls. Seems to be kept up nicely.


Lubec

Fitness Port

A single shower stall that you can easily use for the cheap price of a day pass. The hours can be a bit odd so check the website or give them a call before visiting. Water seems to move between hot and cold, so be aware.


Millinocket

Knife Edge Brewing

Inside of the restrooms of this brewery there are a couple of hot showers to use. This might not be your typical place to stop for a shower, but they have them. Clean facilities with privacy for each stall. Bring your own towels, soap, etc.


Portland

East End Beach

Public shower located next to the beach on the outside of a small building. The water is cold and there is no hot available. Pretty clean but don’t expect much privacy.


Rangeley

Rangeley Region Fitness Center

Nice and clean with private stalls. Plentiful hot water and ample pressure. Friendly staff.


Rockland

Community Recreation Center

Another gem in the state of Maine that allows you to use the showers for free. Friendly staff with clean stalls and hot water that lasts forever.

Rockland Yacht Club

Located inside of the harbormaster building are a couple of token-operated showers that are open for public use. Check-in with the harbormaster to gain entry using the locking door code. Clean stalls and privacy for each one. Nice pressure and seemingly endless hot water.


Seal Harbor

Seal Harbor Beach Restroom

Near the public parking lot and across from the beach is a public restroom that has a couple of free outdoor showers on the outside of the building. Don’t expect much privacy, but the water is warm and pressure is decent.


South Portland

South Portland Recreation Center

The South Portland Rec Center is a really nice place to stop by for a public shower. They are completely free; all you have to do is check-in with the front desk and ask if you can use the shower. You don’t even need a day pass! Very clean, endless hot water, and super friendly staff. Couldn’t be happier with this place.


Southwest Harbor

Small shop that allows campers and guests to use showers at an inexpensive rate. Only quarters are accepted, so bring your change. There are 3 stalls in the men’s and 3 stalls in the women’s restrooms. Friendly staff, clean facility.
