Public Showers in Alaska

Fairview Community Recreation Center

Showers are limited to 30 minutes, but it’s hot! The women’s area has private stalls and the men’s is an open stall, communal shower. There’s even a sauna that you can use!

Spenard Community Recreation Center

For a cheap $3 day pass, you can shower, use the sauna, or workout in the gym. This is a nice facility that’s kept clean. However, there is a 30 minute timer for the showers. Super hot water and great pressure!

Vitus Laundromat

No time limit, great water pressure and temperature. Located at the back of the laundromat, pay the front desk and enjoy in privacy.

Cantwell

Hot showers with great pressure. Affordable price given the 20 minute time limit.

Chickaloon

Grand View Cafe and RV Park

Great water pressure with plenty of hot water. Only takes quarters. Decently clean and spacious. Nice spot!

Copper Center

Kenny Lake Mercantile

Public shower available at the Kenny Lake Mercantile. Excellent hot water and ample pressure with clean stalls. Towels are included! They even allow couples to shower together. Very nice place with friendly staff, too.

Delta Junction

Snowed Inn RV, Campers & Tents

This RV camping area allows walk-ins to use the shower facility for a good price. Hot water and clean setting.

Fairbanks

Hot water and a nice clean place to wash up.

Mary Siah Recreation Center

For the price of a day pass you can use the showers here. The pool, sauna, and spa are also very nice to use if you end up going here. Women’s and men’s changing rooms have open stalls. Not private.

Glennallen

Laundromat with Showers

This is a small laundromat that has several public showers available at an affordable rate. There are two private bathrooms, each with its own shower, sink, and toilet. Clean and good water pressure. Definitely a nice spot to stop and wash up.

Haines

Haines Borough Pool

The public showers at the Haines Pool are small, but clean and provide endless hot water. The price is affordable, and you’re allowed to use the pool for swimming. Friendly staff, great spot!

Haines Hitch-Up RV Park

If you’re a guest at the campground, you can use the hot showers without charge. They are clean, spacious, and very private. Lovely spot to spend the night and clean up!

Homer

Red Door Laundry

This is one of the fanciest public showers you can find. Beautifully tiled stone floor and extremely hot water with great pressure! Clean facility and you even get your own private room.

Sportsman’s Supply and Rental

Very hot showers in a nice and clean facility. They provide a towel and shampoo, included in the price. Currently closed until May 2025.

Hope

Shack in The Woods

This is a really nice place that has no timer on their showers. Very hot water and great pressure. Soap, scrubs, and other small amenities are available.

Ketchikan

Gateway Aquatic Center

The Gateway Aquatic Center has several clean, hot showers available that are included if you pay for a day pass. The price is only $3 and you have full access to the pool, a sauna, gym, games, and other activities. Best of all, you get a clean towel to use, included in your day pass fee.

Kodiak

Quality Dry Cleaners

Pay at the front desk and they will give you a token to use to activate the shower. Hot water with good pressure and they even provide you with a wash cloth, towel, and soap!

Juneau

Statter Harbor

At the restroom near the harbor office, there are several coin-operated hot showers available for use. The stalls are clean, private, and provide plenty of water pressure.

Lowell Point

Red Building

Located directly across the road from Miller’s Landing, you’ll find a red building that has public showers available. You can buy tokens inside of the shower house. The water is hot but does not last entirely long. Not the cleanest, but it works!

Miers Lake

Very clean hot showers with no time limit. Good pressure and friendly, native-owned staff.

Nikiski

KPB North Peninsula Recreation

Open stall shower in the women’s and men’s locker rooms. The showers are all on a center pole, so you’ll have to shower next to other people. Place can be a bit dirty at times, but the water is hot and the pressure is good.

Northway

Decently clean and very cheap. Hot water is plentiful!

Palmer

Idita-Wash

Takes quarters only. Each quarter is 30 seconds. Hot water and friendly staff.

Palmer Pool

Public swimming pool with hot showers available. Clean facility.

Turner’s Corner

Very clean place with hot showers available. There is no time limit and the clerk was very friendly. One of the nicest places in Palmer to take a relaxing hot shower.

Valley Country Store #3

Hot showers available in private stalls. Relatively clean and decent pressure. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Seward

Resurrection South Public Shower

Free public showers with warm water and good pressure. Sometimes it’s hot, other times it’s only warm. Cleaned on a daily basis from noon to 12:30, so the best time to come is around 1PM if you’re looking for the cleanest experience possible.

AVTEC Gym

This is a really nice recreational center and/or gym that has open shower stalls available. Economically priced, plus, you can use the facility and get a good workout in. Pretty clean for a gym!

Sitka

Whale Park

This is a free facility that has hot water sink available in a public restroom. You could use the hot water provided by the sink to fill up your shower bag.

Very hot water with excellent water pressure. Although the token machine will only accept $1 or $5 bills, the price is very affordable. Clean facility with several private stalls.

Skagway

Skagway Harbormaster

These are some of the nicest and cleanest public showers that you’ll find in Alaska. The price of one quarter for every 90 seconds can’t be beat, either. No time limit on the showers! There are a couple of stalls available, all with great water pressure.

Skagway Recreation Center

Excellent hot showers with good water pressure. Each stall is very private, clean, and there’s no time limit. Spacious changing area, too. The admission is via a rec center day pass, so you’re also welcome to use the gym, basketball court, and other amenities.

Soldotna

King Salmon Laundry & Showers

Located behind the Best Western is a smaller building that has several public showers available. Check-in at Best Western’s front desk and provide and ID, and they will give you the keys. Very hot water and great pressure in a clean facility.

Sterling

Sophie’s Suds

Clean showers with hot water at an OK price. Cash only, but an ATM is available. You will need to bring your own towel.

Tok

Raven’s Ridge Laundromat

Wonderful facility that has nice hot showers with free towels, wash cloths, and a bath mat to use. Friendly staff and great water pressure.

Valdez

South Harbor Laundromat and Bath House

This is a very nice, new facility that has hot showers that are very clean and well kept up. $4 worth of tokens will get the shower turned on, and it runs for 12 minutes. Consistent hot water, and OK water pressure. One of the nicer areas around!

Wasilla

Very clean place that has hot showers and a laundromat available as well. You can borrow a towel for a small fee.

Whittier

Whittier Harbor Master

Located inside of the tallest building, you’ll find a couple decently nice showers. These are open for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, you can only use $1 bills to pay. Good water temperature and pressure.
