Public Showers in Connecticut

Branford

Soundview Family YMCA

Check-in with the front desk and you can have free access to their showers. While you do need to fill out a small form for registration and show your ID, it only takes a minute. Each shower stall is very private and offers unlimited hot water. The water pressure is incredible and almost too rough, so be aware. The facility is clean and the staff is quite friendly.

TA Express Travel Center

This TA truck stop has many private shower rooms available to the general public. While the price is a bit steep, the rooms are spacious and there’s endless hot water with no time limit. Each room is cleaned regularly after each use. Towels provided at no additional cost.


Canton

Mills Pond Pool House

For the price of a day pass you can access their showers along with the swimming pool and other amenities. While the water is lukewarm at best, the facility is clean and tidy.


Fairfield

Southport Beach

Located on the beach near the public parking lot is a small building with a cold water shower on the outside of it. No privacy but a good place to wash up if you’re in a pinch.


Kent

Kent Welcome Center

Located in the adorable small town of Kent, you’ll find a couple of coin operated showers for public use at the welcome center. They stalls are private and relatively clean, considering this is open to the public. While not open during the colder months, the water is very hot and the pressure is great.


Milford

Pilot Travel Center

This is your standard Pilot truck stop located just off of Interstate 95. There are 9 private rooms, each with their own shower, toilet, sink, mirror, bench, and fan. Towels are provided at no extra cost and there are complimentary soap and shampoo dispensers.

Walnut Beach

Located near the beach and parking area there is a free cold shower on the outside of the building. While probably meant for rinsing off sand after going swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, you could just as easily use it to wash up. No privacy so be aware.


West Hartford

Cornerstone Aquatics Center

The Cornerstone Aquatics Center offers free showers to guests who check-in with the front desk. Specifically ask to use the showers “only” and they should be willing to let you access them. The stalls are nice and spacious and there’s unlimited hot water. Clean facility that seems to be well upkept.
