Public Showers in Ohio

Amherst

Middle Ridge Service Plaza

Located along the Ohio turnpike is this nice travel center rest area. Located inside the trucker’s area, you can use the hot showers free of charge. Although these public showers may be meant for trucker’s, it’s OK if anyone uses them.

Danbury Township

North Swimming Beach

Located on the shores of Lake Erie there are free outdoor showers at the North Swimming Beach. Located inside of East Harbor State Park, these are cold and typically meant for rinsing sand off after you go swimming. These are pole-style, open public showers with no privacy.

Huron

Harbor Point Marina

At the Harbor Point Marina, there are a couple of very nice showers in modern, clean facilities. These are spacious, newly updated showers that are clean. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Check-in with the front office and pay the fee. They will give you a code to use to enter each room.

Nickel Plate Beach

These are outdoor showers located right next to the beach that have a couple open-stall public showers for use. They are completely free and provide warm water. Parking costs $6, so you might consider that before expecting a totally free shower.

Mendon

Motor Inn Travel Plaza

The Motor Inn Travel plaza has several clean hot showers available for $10 per stall. They are private, updated, and provide excellent water pressure and temperature control. Towels provided as well!

Rittman

Rittman Recreation Center

For the cheap price of a day pass, you can use the showers at the Rittman Rec Center. These are clean and have very hot water with excellent, consistent pressure. The pool and other amenities are nice to have as well.

Vickery

Erie Islands Service Plaza

Inside of the trucker’s lounge, you’ll find several free hot showers available. Unlimited hot water and relatively clean. These are located inside of private restrooms that each have their own locked door. Excellent stop along the Ohio turnpike.

West Unity

Indian Meadow Service Plaza

This is an excellent newer travel or truck stop that has free showers available. They are located in the trucker’s lounge area. The stalls are private, clean, and provide endless hot water. No time limit. Excellent place to stop, right off the Ohio turnpike.
