Public Showers in Washington

Arlington

Pilot Travel Center

Conveniently located off of Exit 208 on Interstate 5 is a newly built Pilot truck stop. Very nice facility, albeit a bit expensive. They do not charge per person but rather per room, so you can bring a guest and there’s no extra cost. Towels and soap dispensers are complimentary. Very clean!


Battle Ground

Battle Ground Lake State Park

Located in the bathhouse closet to the lake, you’ll find a shower in each of the men’s and women’s restrooms. They are completely free to use, as long as you have a Discover Pass to enter the State Park. Stalls are spacious and private with hot water.


Bellevue

Bellevue Aquatic Center

This is a nice place to stop for a quick shower that offers a highly discounted rate without any sort of time limit. They are push-button style showers within a communal locker room, but there’s one private stall in each.


Bellingham

Arne Hanna Aquatic Center

Several hot water showers located within this small indoor pool facility. While the facility does not seem to be cleaned often, the water pressure is great, and there’s private stalls. There used to be shower-only passes available, but you now have to pay for a pool pass to access them.

Bloedel Donovan Park

Free warm water shower located near the beach area. While it’s typically used to rinse off sand, it’s easy to wash up in it. It’s in the wide open, so don’t expect any privacy. This park is often very busy during a hot summer day, but do take note; it’s closed in the winter months.

FitEvo – Bellingham

Nice gym with many private shower stalls available. Cheap first-time pass that gains you access to the entire facility. No soap or towels available, so plan ahead. Water is very hot and stalls are cleaned often. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Larrabee State Park Campground

Near the entrance of the campground is a small building with several warm water showers within. They are clean and spacious with ample pressure. Water is not very hot, so you should assume these are “warm.”

Lake Padden Park

Free outdoor showerheads located on the side of the big bathroom/shower building. There used to be indoor showers but they seem to be permanently closed. Water pressure is great but it’s “warm” and not “hot.”


Blaine

BP Heron Center

Spacious shower stalls with unlimited hot water open to the general public. Facility is clean and tidy with a bench and grab rails for support. While you do need a Discover Pass to enter/park here, the showers are completely free.


Brinnon

Dosewallips State Park Campground

Located within the restrooms there are private shower rooms available. Completely free to use; you do not need to be staying at the campground to use them, although you will need a Discover Pass to enter and park here. Water is very hot and the stalls are small but relatively clean.


Cougar

Eagle Cliff Store & Campground

A couple of hot showers located in the smaller building next to the store. Pay inside of the store to gain access. Clean stalls but the floor does not drain very well and pools up with water after time. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.


Coupeville

Coupeville Wharf

Coin operated showers located at the very end of the wharf. They rooms are private and large and relatively clean. Typically used for boaters but the general public can use them. If the door is locked, you will need to contact the harbor master who is typically located in the small office around the corner from the showers.

Fort Ebey State Park Campground

Token operated showers located within the State Park Campground. Tokens can be acquired at the machine located on the back side of the restroom building. Although the water pressure is pretty bad, the temperature is very hot.

Keystone Ferry Landing

Located within the men’s and women’s restrooms near the beach. Hot water, totally free, but a bit dirty so bring your sandals.


Cusik

Kalispel Market

This is a new, very clean market that has hot showers available. Showers are located near the market entrance next to the casino. Inside the building they are located in the back near the laundry room.


Davenport

Very clean and spacious shower inside of this laundromat. Toilet and sink are within the same stall as the shower. Excellent water pressure and consistent hot water. Takes quarters only. Change machine available.


Easton

Lake Easton State Park Day-Use

There are a couple of free showers located inside of the men’s and women’s bathrooms. Not entirely private but totally free, as long as you have a Discover Pass. Pressure isn’t that good and water is decently warm. Good for a free spot.


Eatonville

Alder Lake Park

Coin operated showers located at each of the group sites. Ample hot water, but not a very clean facility – definitely bring your sandals. No change machine on-site so be prepared to bring some quarters.


Ellensburg

Love’s Travel Stop

Double shower heads in private stalls that are very clean. Excellent water pressure and endless hot water. No time limit. Very clean, and they even give you free towels to use.


Enumclaw

Enumclaw Aquatic Center

Currently under renovation but they do offer showers to anyone who stops by. 30 minutes of access gives you plenty of time to wash up with a hot shower that has phenomenal pressure. Clean facility, but the stalls are open stalls; not private.


Entiat

Entiat City Park

One of the best spots around to take a free shower. The Entiat City Park has a campground that allows anyone to take a 5 minute shower for free. You don’t even need to have a spot in the campground; completely free to the public. Each shower provides 5 minutes of warm water with decent pressure.


Forks

Bogachiel State Park

Located towards the back of the campground is a small tan and green building that has a couple of free showers within it. The stalls are quite clean and spacious considering that these are completely free to use.

Forks Athletic & Aquatic Club

Small gym with a few nice showers that can be used along with all other amenities for the price of a day pass. They even have a “family” shower that’s huge, so opt for that if it’s available. Water is very hot, and the owner, Ruby, is a wonderfully nice lady.

Hard Rain Cafe

Small cafe with private shower rooms each with their own toilet, sink, chair, and hooks. Easy access; pay inside and they will give you a code to get into the locked door. Relatively clean and spacious, no time limits, and very hot water.


Friday Harbor

Friday Harbor Marina

Three coin operated showers located within the men’s and women’s restrooms by the beginning of the dock. Private stalls with hot water and good pressure. No change machine on site so plan ahead and bring your quarters.


Electric City

Northrup Point Trailhead

This is a great place to take a hot shower with quarters accepted at an affordable rate. Shower stalls are private and provide excellent water pressure and hot water.


Grand Coulee

Spring Canyon Campground

Located near the beach restrooms are a few outdoor showers that provide decent warm water. Very strong water pressure but there is no privacy as these are meant for washing up after playing at the beach. Park up above near the campground or beach parking area and walk the short gravel path down to the restroom where the showers are located.


Granite Falls

Tiny Bubbles Laundromat

Coin operated showers open to the public at this small laundromat. Clean stalls with spacious interiors. Water is hot and pressure is OK.


Ilwaco

Waikiki Beach

Located directly across from the parking area is a restroom building with two showers inside and two outside. The water temperature is not adjustable, but it’s decently hot and lasts several minutes before you need to push the button again. Stalls are very large and private. A real gem of a spot. Please note that you will need a Discover Pass to access this facility.


Kingston

Village Green Community Center

Small rec center with shower-only passes available for the public. The stalls are private but kind of small. However, there’s plenty of hot water and pressure, without any sort of time limit. Hours are a bit weird so call ahead or check their website before going.


Kirkland

Doris Cooper Houghton Beach Park

Free cold water showers located by the lakeside. Wide open so there’s no privacy, but the pressure is good and parking is easy.


Langley

South Whidbey Harbor at Langley

Located a the Phil Simon Memorial Park you will find a couple of hot showers that are open for public use. Small stalls but they are quite clean with good water pressure.


Leavenworth

Club West Fitness Center

Small independent gym that has showers for the public. Cheap price and ample hot water that tends to get colder after about 15 minutes. Very clean and tidy facility with friendly staff.

KOA Leavenworth

Although this is a paid campground, the KOA in Leavenworth allows unlimited hot showers for a $15 day pass. You’ll need to inquire at the front office and get a gate code after you make your payment.


Lyle

Columbia Hills Historical State Park

Small building near the Horsethief Lake boat ramp that has a couple warm water showers within it. The stalls have coin-operated timers but they don’t function so the showers are completely free. Not the cleanest but the water is very hot and plentiful.


Mossyrock

Mossyrock Park

Coin operated showers located within the restrooms. Very hot water with good pressure and showerheads that provide a pleasant stream pattern. Although it could be cleaned more often, it’s a nice spot with privacy. There’s a gate when you drive-in, but just tell them you are there for the showers and they’ll let you pass.


Mount Vernon

Riverside Health Club

Although it’s quite expensive, this is one of the nicest facilities around. In addition to private shower stalls, there’s a full gym wet/dry sauna, two pools, and a hot tub. Clean and tidy with friendly staff. There are no shower-only passes available.


Mukilteo

Rosehill Community Center

This is a nice community center that allows guests to shower without any sort of fee. Just check-in with the front desk and ask them if you could use their showers for a quick wash up. Located in the downstairs restrooms. Clean and roomy with very hot water.


Neah Bay

Makah Tribal Marina

Located on the far left side of the main marina building, you’ll find a couple private shower rooms that anyone is allowed to use. There’s a bench with towel hooks and a private stall within each of the rooms. Relatively clean with very hot water that lasts a long time. Excellent pressure, too!


North Bend

Si View Park Pool

This is a small but very upscale and nice indoor pool within a community park that offers showers to the general public. The stalls are private and roomy with amazing hot water and pressure. Clean facility with friendly employees!


Okanogan

American Legion Park

Campsite area has free hot showers that you can use even if you’re not actually camping overnight at the campground.


Olympia

Bruceport County Park & Campground

Located within the men’s and women’s restroom building is a shower in each. It’s a private stall with a coin-operated timer machine, but it’s broken, so they simply ask for donations instead. Give them a few bucks when you enter and you’re good to go. Not the cleanest but the water stays hot for about 15 minutes before you notice it getting colder.


Ovington

Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort

Although this place is closed during the winter months, they offer free warm showers to anyone who stops by. They are communal and in the open so don’t expect any privacy. Clean facility with access to hot springs if you decide to buy a soaking pass.


Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach State Park

Beachfront campground with a small building that has several private shower stalls for public use. The water is hot and the access is completely free. Relatively clean and open for all; you do not need to be staying here to use them.


Packwood

Cowlitz River Lodge

This is a nice, upscale lodge that has public showers for anyone to access, even if you aren’t staying at the lodge. The stalls are roomy and provide plenty of hot water with amazing pressure. Clean facility with friendly employees.


Pateros

Alta Lake State Park

Located in the day use changing area and wash room building. Only accepts quarters; no bills. This is part of the campground but you do not have to be a campground guest to use them.

Pateros Memorial Park

One of the best free showers around. There is one shower in the men’s restroom and one shower in the women’s restroom. Completely free of charge although you do need to push the button every 30 seconds. Water is very hot and overall the stalls are very clean and well kept.


Port Angeles

Crescent Beach & RV Park

Hot showers available to the public, but can be a bit pricey. Clean facility and ample pressure with a seemingly everlasting hot water supply.

Olympic Peninsula YMCA

Two large communal showers located in each of the locker rooms. They are clean and spacious with ample hot water but do not expect any privacy. If you haven’t been here before, you can register at the front desk and show your ID for a free (once a year) shower.

Salt Creek Campground

Although there’s a sign stating that the showers are only to be used by registered campers, nobody is checking. You can typically use these if you stop by and be discreet. Change machine (for quarters) is on-site but it’s usually broken so plan ahead.

Shadow Mountain RV Park Campground

There are a few shower stalls open to the general public here. You do not need to be a campground guest to use them. The water is hot but the facility tends to be a bit dirty and doesn’t seem to be cleaned all that often. No time limits.

Shore Aquatic Center

Very nice community pool with shower stalls that offer plenty of privacy. Water is extremely hot and the pressure is wonderful. No towels, so plan on bringing your own. Hours can be a bit random so give them a call or check their website before arriving.


Port Townsend

Fort Worden State Park Beach Campground

One outdoor and one indoor shower that’s completely free to use as long as you have a Discover Pass. The stall inside is huge, handicap accessible, with a clean tiled interior. Excellent water pressure and unlimited hot water. These used to be coin operated but they are no longer.


Quinault

Laundromat and Pay Showers

Two small, private shower stalls that provide amazingly hot water with good pressure. Coin-operated but no change machine on site so bring your own quarters. Not cleaned very often but it’s a nice cheap spot to wash up.


Redmond

Redmond Pool

This is a nice public pool that often lets guests use the showers for free. Just ask nicely at the front desk and they’ll let you in. Clean private stalls with amazingly hot water.


Republic

The Scrub Board

Clean hot showers available inside the Scrub Board laundromat. Takes quarters only. Change machine available but is often not working, so be sure to bring your own quarters.


Roche Harbor

Roche Harbor Marina

Located within the Marina restroom are five individual private shower stalls that are coin operated. Very clean but not much ventilation so it gets very steamy with plentiful hot water and pressure.


Rockport

Howard Miller Steelhead Park

Several hot showers located within the campground area. Hot water with good pressure. Stalls are small and not very clean so plan on bringing your sandals.


SeaTac

Sea-Tac Community Center

Serveral private shower stalls open for public use at the SeaTac Community Center. There are 3 stalls in each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Not very clean so be sure to bring your sandals. Staff is very welcoming.


Seattle

Alki Beach Bathhouse Public Restrooms

Located on the south side of the small building are two cold water showerheads open for anyone to use. While typically meant for rinsing off sand after enjoying Alki Beach, they are easily accessible for anyone wanting to wash up.

Delridge Community Center

This is a nice community center with free showers available on weekdays between 10AM and 4:30PM. Towels and soap are provided. Stalls are clean and water is hot. Easy access.

Green Lake Community Center

Although typically meant for folks who are homeless, anyone can stop by and use the shower. There’s a single stall that is setup for public use. Check-in and add your name to the list. Call ahead or visit their website to check hours, as they seem to be open at random times.

Magnuson Park

Located on the backside of the restroom building, facing the water, are a few showerheads that anyone can use. The water is surprisingly hot and the pressure is good. Wide open so not much privacy, but a great spot to wash up.

Matthews Beach Park

Located on the backside of the restroom building facing towards the water are a couple of showerheads that are free for public use. Although the water is not heated, the pressure is good. Not much privacy as these are open stalls.

Meadowbrook Community Center

If you arrive during a weekday between 10:30AM and 4:30PM, you can use the showers for free. Towels and soap are provided, but they ask you to keep your shower under 20 minutes. Nice staff, clean facility, very hot water.

Miller Community Center

Nice rec center with free showers available to the general public. Just ask the front desk nicely and they’ll show you where to go. Clean, small private stalls with very hot water. Disposable towels provided.


Sequim

Rainshadow Laundry & Car Wash

Although the price is a bit steep and there’s only a single stall, the facility is clean and roomy. Very hot water, although the employees tend to be a bit rude on more than one occasion.

Sequim Bay State Park

Conveniently located off of highway 101, the Sequim Bay State Park has a couple of showers available. You can acquire tokens at the entrance booth and they’ll instruct you on where to go. Note that the hot water is turned off daily between 10:30PM and 5:30AM, but otherwise there is plentiful hot water and the facility is relatively clean.


Shelton

Jarrell Cove State Park

Coin operated showers that provide very hot water. Two private stalls that are relatively clean. Although a Discover Pass is required for parking, this place seems seldomly use and is quite nice!

Potlatch State Park

While you do need a Discover Pass to park here, you can use the outdoor, cold water shower for free. Not much privacy but works in a pinch. Pressure is good and it definitely has some nice views.

Shelton Family YMCA

On your first visit to the Shelton YMCA, you get to shower without any sort of fee. But you will need to show your ID and register at the front desk to gain access. Every visit thereafter is $10. Stalls are private and the water is plenty hot with good pressure.


Skamokawa Valley

Vista Park

Small building located near the RV camping area that has quarter-operated showers for the general public to use. Inexpensive price and hot water with private stalls that are somewhat clean.


Snoqualmie

Very nice, newly built YMCA that offers free showers to anyone. Clean, very hot water, no time limits. Check-in with the front desk and they’ll show you where to go. Valid photo ID and registration required but the staff is super friendly.


Spokane

Hillyard Aquatic Center

During open swim you’re able to use the showers with free registration. Only open during the summer. You do not necessarily have to use the pool, but you will need to register (for free) at the front desk for access.

Liberty Park Aquatic Center

Although it’s only open during the summer, you’re allowed to use the showers free of charge. Must register at the front desk. Showers are clean and provide plenty of hot water.

YMCA Spokane Valley

If you are not a YMCA member you will need to register for a temporary pass at the reception to access the shower facility. This is an open communal area with one private shower stall available. Very clean and well kept up.


Stevenson

Beacon Rock Boat Launch

Located in the small building near the boat launch are a couple of hot showers that are open to the public. They used to be coin-operated but now they are completely free. Parking is limited to 15 minutes, so plan wisely. Stalls are private and relatively clean.


Tacoma

Eastside Community Center

This is one of the newest and nicest recreation centers in Tacoma that offers showers to the general public. The stalls are separate and individual so you get privacy. Showers are located within the weight lifting area of the gym. Clean with ample hot water/pressure.

People’s Community Center & Pool

Open stall communal showers located within each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Not much for privacy but the water is very hot and the pressure is great.

Tacoma Center YMCA

Between the hours of 1:30PM and 4:30PM the Tacoma YMCA lets visitors use the showers for free. If you arrive outside of these times, you’ll be required to purchase a $20 per person day pass. Individual private stalls with good pressured hot water.


Tonasket

Junction Laundromat

This is a clean laundromat that has a couple pay showers available. Accepts quarters only, but there is a change machine available to break dollar bills. Bright, spacious, and clean facility that’s perfect for road trippers.


Trout Lake

Guler Mt. Adams Park

Small, quaint campground with two bath houses with a shower within each. A bit outdated and dirty but the water is hot. You do not need to be camping here to use the facility.


Twisp

Hwy 20 Washworks

Located right next to Hank’s Mini Market. Very nice and clean establishment for showering while you’re on the road. This is a laundromat but they also offer hot showers with excellent water pressure and a clean environment that’s kept up well.


Vancouver

Propstra Aquatic Center

You can access the pool for an hour and in that time, use the showers. They are open and communal so don’t expect any privacy. However, the water is plenty hot and the pressure is good. Staff is nice but they expect you to swim, so if you want to shower-only just act like you’re going to go in the pool.


Vashon

Dockton Park

Within each of the restrooms, you’ll find a shower stall that provides plentiful hot water and good privacy. Coin operate timer machine but there’s no change machine on-site so come prepared with your quarters ready.


Washtucna

Lyons Ferry State Park

Located inside of the restroom near the main parking area, you have access to a free hot shower, as long as you have a WA state Discover Pass. Decently clean, hot water with privacy available.


Wenatchee

Confluence State Park

Two showers for men, two for women. One is push button with no controls. Other one of a handicap shower with temp control. Decent pressure and consistently warm water. Tokens are available at the guard shack. You will need a WA state discovery pass to park.


Westport

Westport Jetty Restroom Showers

Totally free warm water showers located at the restroom facility near the Westport Jetty. There are two indoor and four outdoor showers. The ones’ inside have private doors that lock. Water takes a minute to get warm and the spray of the showerhead is quite erratic, but it works for a quick wash up. Not cleaned all that often so bring your sandals!


Winthrop

Pearrygin Lake State Park

Spacious private showers located within the restroom building at Pearrygin Lake State Park. Easy access and a clean facility with a shower curtain for privacy. There is a sign that asks for you to only push the shower button 3 times, in order to save water and resources. Each button press lasts about 3 minutes. Water is hot and pressure is great.

Pine Near RV Park & Campground

Small campground with friendly staff who are willing to let non-campers in for a quick shower. Clean, hot, and private stalls with good water pressure.
